🛠 Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Print & Cut the Pattern
Download the free template and print it at 100% (actual size). Carefully cut out the pieces and use them as stencils to trace onto your felt.
Step 2: Prepare & Organize Your Pieces
Gather the following:
- 2 brown body pieces (front and back).
- 1 white belly piece.
- 2 white and 2 brown wing pieces.
- 1 orange beak piece.
- 2 orange feet pieces.
- 4 antlers pieces.
- (Optional) A ribbon for hanging.
Tip: Lay out all your felt pieces to ensure nothing is missing before you begin.
Step 3: Sew the Antlers
Sew together each pair of matching antler pieces.
Step 4: Sew the Belly & Beak
Stitch the white belly piece onto one brown body piece. Attach the orange beak just above the belly with a small stitch or glue.
Step 5: Attach the Wings & Feet
Layer the white felt pieces on the brown wing bases and sew them together. Secure the wings to the sides of the body. Position the orange feet at the bottom and sew or glue them in place.
Step 6: Add the Eyes
Plastic Eyes: Insert and secure with backing.
Embroidered Eyes: Sew small black circles with thread for a personalized look.
Step 7: Join the Body & Stuff Your Penguin
Align the two body pieces and stitch them together with a blanket stitch. Leave a small opening, stuff the penguin evenly, then sew the opening closed.
Step 8: Add Finishing Touches (Optional)
Attach a ribbon loop at the top for a holiday ornament. Customize with stars, beads, or a mini scarf for extra charm!
